McLaren stunned the automotive world in December 2017 when they unveiled the Senna, a track-focused supercar named after the late Formula One driver Ayrton Senna. The Senna's hyper-aggressive exterior appearance was designed with one goal in mind: to set the fastest lap times possible much like its' namesake. McLaren sought to incorporate its design philosophy "form follows function" to the Senna's aerodynamic bodywork for the sake of ultimate performance and the radical result became an instant classic in the world of supercars. Limited to 500 units worldwide, the Senna is a highly exclusive vehicle that is still well sought after by driver-focused car collectors around the world.
In 2019, the bespoke division at McLaren Special Operations (also known as "MSO") decided to create an even more wild and exclusive version of the Senna codenamed "BC-03." McLaren invited several of its best American clients to a preview of what would become the McLaren Sabre. McLaren wanted push the envelope even further than they did with the Senna. In the words of Neil Underwood, MSO's global sales manager, the Sabre was designed with the notion that "customers wanted the car to look like it arrived from space." The result was a road-going UFO with LMP racecar inspired design elements. Limited to just 15 units and exclusively sold in the United States, the Sabre fetched a hefty price tag that was nearly 4x more expensive than a new Senna. However, while it shares its underpinnings and powerplant with the Senna, "more than 70% of the parts on the Sabre are unique to it. And because MSO built this car specifically for the United States, it didn't have to worry about meeting rules for any other country." The Sabre also has 35 more horsepower than a Senna.
O'Gara Coach Company was proud to deliver 4 of the 15 Sabres built for the United States. Chassis 008, finished in the incredibly striking Pacific Colorstream, is offered for sale by its one and only owner. This incredible supercar is ready to find its next caretaker who is looking for one of the most exclusive automobiles ever produced.
